Keira Knightley has a hair-raising moment as she battles the elements at Imitation Game premiere

It was her big night, having her movie The Imitation Game open the BFI London Film Festival.

But Keira Knightley's special moment was ruined by the elements as London's wind and rain left her battling to keep her hair in place as she walked the red carpet at the Odeon in Leicester Square.

The 29-year-old actress wore a demure floor-length gold lace gown, with a high neckline and long sleeves, for the movie event but all eyes were on her brown locks as they lost their battle with the weather.

However, that didn't stop Keira from smiling as she promoted the movie alongside co-star Benedict Cumberbatch.

Keira's dress featured a number of layers and a pair of bright shoes along with huge diamond earrings completed her look.

It may have been raining when Keira Knightley arrived at the premiere of her new film The Imitation Game, but that didn't stop her lighting up the red carpet.

The British actress looked dreamy in this beautiful lace dress from Valentino's Fall 2014 Couture collection and it seems this luxury label is the theme for the day as she wore a dress from its SS15 line earlier in the day.

Lace is a classic look that will always be in style but this traditional fabric has been having a bit of a fashion moment recently with designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Simone Rocha, Erdem and of course Valentino all using it in their designs.

Getting Keira's exact dress for yourself will entail a trip to the Valentino atelier as this is all about being bespoke so if that's unlikely to happen then why not recreate her lacy look using the wonder of the internet instead?

We've found some lovely long dresses that will give you her look for less including this stunning maxi by Needle & Thread at Net-a-Porter (below). Or grab a bargain at Missguided leaving you enough money left over for shoes!
